Going into Week 12, the Cincinnati Bengals’ biggest unknown is whether they can win with quarterback Jake Browning. This weekend against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Browning will make his first career start following star Joe Burrow’s wrist injury that ended the season.
Many have written the Bengals off completely in the postseason since Burrow’s injury. Browning, though, continues to have faith in his own abilities.
“I’ve won at every level I’ve played.” That is worth mentioning, according to Browning. I’ve had the nickname “sly athletic” for ever. I’m not sure where the cunning element originates. been precise at all times. “I’ve never been scared to talk about it,” said Charlie Goldsmith of the Enquirer.
Browning went 8–14 for 68 yards and a touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens while replacing Joe Burrow. With an overall record of 39-15, the former Washington quarterback enjoyed winning seasons in each of his seasons as a member of the Huskies. He completed 12,296 yards of passing as a Husky, with 94 touchdowns and 34 interceptions. Add 16 touchdowns to his running total. Despite his success in college, he must undoubtedly establish himself in the NFL. After being selected undrafted in 2019, Browning has mostly been used as a practice squad member or backup and has not played football on a regular basis since then.
The Bengals’ chances are presently stacked against them, regardless of Browning’s feelings. Cincinnati is only 5-5 and in the toughest division in the NFL. The Bengals are 0-3 against teams in their division in addition to being in last place while every other AFC North team has a winning record. This means that they have to win their next game against the Steelers.
