BEREA, Ohio — If you’ve heard this before, stop us: Myles Garrett grabbed a quarterback’s helmet while the Steelers were playing in Cleveland.

This version is new to you. Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett gained the first down on a fourth-and-1 play from the Pittsburgh 29-yard line in the third quarter of the Browns’ victory over the Steelers on Sunday, despite his helmet coming off in the process.

Garrett got himself up off the ground and reached down to grab the helmet of the quarterback that was sitting next to him.

Of course, everyone recalls what transpired in 2019 when, with seconds remaining in the Browns’ Thursday night victory, Garrett caught up to Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph. Garrett struck Rudolph with the helmet after ripping it off his head. He missed the last six games of the season due to an indefinite suspension. The next offseason, he was given a second chance.

Naturally, everyone recalls what transpired in 2019 when Garrett closed the distance on Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph during the final seconds of the Browns’ Thursday night victory. Rudolph’s helmet was ripped off his head by Garrett, who then struck him. Six games remained in the season that he missed due to his indefinite suspension. The next offseason, he was back on the field.

Things were far more subdued this time. Dan Moore Jr. and Broderick Jones, two offensive linemen for the Steelers, approached Garrett and graciously accepted the helmet. In fact, Garrett pretended to swing before giving it to Jones and raising his hands.
