Josh Jacobs has a vicious running style that makes him well-known for his ability to get past opponents. This type of play is sustained by the running back for the Las Vegas Raiders, who thrives off of it. However, it has previously
gotten him into trouble. Most recently, he was fined for being unduly harsh. When they played the New York Giants and New York Jets, Jacobs accomplished it for the second straight week. Aidan O’Connell’s weapon was understandably unhappy about the call. But via ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez, he had a message for the NFLPA.
“In the end, I play football the way I like to. When I’m trying to gain a yard against two guys who weigh forty pounds more than me, I’m not sure what they want me to do. Josh Jacobs pleaded, “I don’t know if they expect me to run high or get, I don’t know,” following his fines from the Jets and Giants games.
When he rushed for the Raiders against the Miami Dolphins, he showed a little bit more discipline. He only gained 19 rushing yards on 14 carries. Their record dropped below.500, so this did not look good. His pitiful 2.8 average yard gain, which is less effective than his prior outings, served as more evidence
.
The NFLPA has called Jacobs to appeal. The main goal is to persuade them that particular forms of roughness are essential to the game. Until then, considering what transpired against Robert Saleh and Brian Daboll’s teams, Aidan O’Connell’s best rusher may need to be patient when he moves defenders around.
