FOXBORO, Massachusetts — Regarding the Patriots’ quarterback position this Sunday against the New York Giants, Bill Belichick would not divulge his plans. If his players are aware, they are not disclosing it.

David Andrews and Hunter Henry, the offensive captains, were questioned on Tuesday about whether they had been informed which quarterback would start this week.

Henry answered, “I’m just focused on what I have to focus on.”

Has Andrews, who collaborates with the quarterback more than any other player on the field because he is the center, received any word?

The offensive player with the longest contract with the Patriots said, “I mean, look, I snap to all the quarterbacks.” “You never know what’s going to happen during the week, so I work with them all week long. You need to be ready for anything at all because illnesses, accidents, family emergencies, and other events happen to people.

All you have to do is make the most of each rep. However, I work with each and every quarterback in case something does go wrong.

Mac Jones, the quarterback for the Patriots who has started every game when healthy since 2021 and is also a team captain, is close friends with Henry. Jones only missed three games last season due to an ankle injury that kept him out of the game early.

This week could be the end of the streak, but backups Bailey Zappe, Will Grier, and Malik Cunningham are not the best choices. Belichick said he would not reveal which signal-caller he preferred and that he had instructed all four to be “ready to go.” In the one practice drill that reporters were allowed to watch on Tuesday, Jones received the most reps, followed by Zappe.

About Jones, Henry remarked, “He’s doing great.” “He’s a fierce competitor and leader. I adore spending time with him, dear friend. Every time I go out there with him, I get excited. .. Man, we’ll always be friends despite everything. Nothing, I’m sure, will stand in the way of all that.
