Harambee Stars head coach Engin Firat has made some significant changes as Kenya seeks redemption against Seychelles, who they will face at Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

In their opening group match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, many expected a positive result, but Harambee Stars fell 2-1 at the hands of Gabon last Thursday.

The absence of key players Joseph Okumu (Reims, France) and Daniel Anyembe (Viborg, Denmark) was felt in the defense as lapses plagued the Kenya attack.

Following the result, the Turkish tactician has made two significant changes to his lineup, handing Eric Johanna a start in place of Kevin Muguna, while Eric ‘Marcelo Ouma’ makes a return from injury as they aim to secure all points against the Pirates.

Turkish gaffer opted not to shuffle the defensive line-up maintaining Johnstone Omurwa, Amos Nondi, Abud Omar, and Denis Ng’ang’a.

In the midfield,Rooney Onyango, Richard Odada and Anthony Akumu held their positions and were joined by Eric Johanna.

Captain Michael Olunga will lead the attack line alongside Masud Juma of Al-Jabalain.

It is an experienced forward line which points to an all-out attack for Kenya.

It is worth noting that there have been six previous clashes between the sides, with Kenya winning five.

Seychelles have failed to score in their last five clashes with Kenya, only finding the net against them in a 2-1 defeat in the CECAFA Cup in November 1992
