CEO of Barstool Sports Dave Portnoy, who staked $120,000 on the Cincinnati Bengals football game, hinted he would bring a class action lawsuit. The Bengals’ alleged fabrication of quarterback Joe Burrow’s injury report, according to Portnoy, may have determined the game’s outcome.

According to the Daily Mail, Burrow was spotted wearing a black sleeve on his throwing hand prior to the football game on Thursday night against the Ravens. Burrow left the game due to a wrist injury. But Portnoy’s problem with the situation is that Burrow’s injury was not disclosed by the Bengals prior to kickoff.

Portnoy reportedly felt cheated out of crucial information that would have guided his wagering on the game after he risked $120,000 of his own money on the Bengals.

Portnoy wrote on X: “I’m filing a class action lawsuit against the Bengals and NFL for lying about the injury report.”

If I had known Joe Burrow was hurt going into the game, there’s no way I would have wagered $100,000 of my hard-earned money on the Bengals. I owe this committee an apology.”

Portnoy seems to have turned the incident into a farce in a different X post, suggesting that anyone who suffered injuries from the football game might be eligible for financial compensation and recommending that they get in touch with his father.

The NFL has opened an investigation into why the Bengals did not list Burrow on their injury report if he was indeed dealing with a wrist injury, even though it is unclear how serious Portnoy is about suing the team.

The Bengals may forfeit a draft pick or face a sizable fine if it is determined that they broke a rule pertaining to injured players.

According to CNN, Burrow’s injury will probably require surgery, according to Bengals head coach Zac Taylor.

Burrows said, “I landed on my wrist a little bit on the play before it happened, and I just felt a pop in the middle of the throw on the next play, the touchdown pass.”

“I tried to give it a shot, but I just couldn’t finish, and I obviously found out today, so it’s not great.”

Taylor says he thinks Burrow will recover well because he is “programmed differently.”

All the things you can say about a guy like that, Taylor continued, “he is just built a little bit different to be able to overcome setbacks and challenges and plays with a chip on his shoulder.”

“For this reason, I am confident that he will react appropriately and on schedule from this.” That’s just a characteristic of Joe’s build.
