According to recent statements made, the Scotland right-back believes there is still unresolved business between him and the Ibrox team and that he would be warmly received back

Another stand-out display on international duty suggests that when James Tavernier hangs up his boots for Rangers, Nathan Patterson should be his natural successor.

When the two were playing games together, there was always one significant difference between them.

Tavernier was a crosser, and Patterson was a dribbler.

The captain of the Gers is an incredible assist leader and possesses uncanny timing and positioning in the back post.

Regarding Patterson, he demonstrated his ability to contribute goals during his brief stint in the starting lineup by scoring a pair of them.

However, Tavernier is unmatched in that regard.

The former Rangers defender had the difficult task of facing off against Kvhicha Kvaratskhelia, one of the best dribblers in the world, against Georgia, but Nathan Patterson more than held his own.

Although Scotland had the most protection there, there was some criticism for allowing the Napoli playmaker to cut inside to score his second of the evening.

The Scotland team didn’t do much to assist Patterson, and it was John McGinn who created the opening for Kvaratskhelia to dribble into.

Since Patterson’s contract expires in2027, Sean Dyche of Everton appears set on keeping him off the field whenever possible. Nevertheless, there is no chance of a speedy or inexpensive return.

Although it is unknown how much Everton would demand for Patterson, they are unable to demand anything close to what they paid for him, so who would cover the difference?

Although thrs have recently made some poor financial decisions, if he remains at Everton and is not first choice in a e Rangefew years, it would be the least risky signing in history to bring Nathan Patterson home.
