Mamelodi Sundowns will compete in the CAF Women’s Champions League final for the third consecutive year. The team that the South African champions defeated 1-0 in the group stages, SC Casablanca, will now face them again

Coach Jerry Tshabalala’s team is no stranger to facing a Moroccan team in the championship round, as they were destroyed 4-0 by AS Far in the previous season’s finals.
This season’s South African team is significantly stronger than last, with players like Lerato Kgasago, Andile Dlamini, and Melinda Kgadiete playing key roles in Sundowns’ thrilling run to the championship.
They defeated JKT Queens 2-0 in their first game, then defeated SC Casablanca 1-0 in their second game before destroying the hosts, Athletico Abidjan, 3-0.
They faced AS Far in the semifinals and had the chance to exact revenge for their crushing loss to them in the championship game the previous season. They defeated AS Far 1-0 to set up their matchup with another Moroccan team on Sunday.
The South Africans played flawlessly throughout. Seven goals scored, four victories, and no goals given up.
Despite being a younger team than their rivals, SC Casablanca is adamant about pulling off an upset and winning the Moroccan title for a second consecutive year.
For the first time ever, SC Casablanca, which was founded in 2019, will compete in the CAF Women’s Champions League final.
The team led by El Qaïchouri Mehdi had a slow start to the season, but they recovered well enough to make it to the finals.
They played the hosts, Athletico Abidjan, in their first game and held them to a 1-1 draw. In their second match, they played Sundowns, and the South Africans won 1-0.
The Moroccans defeated JKT Queens 4-1 in a decisive match played in San Pedro. This earned them a spot in the semi-finals, where they had to battle hard against a determined Ampem Darkoa to come back twice from behind in a 2-2 draw. They eventually advanced to the finals via a 3-2 penalty shootout.
To date, SC Casablanca has scored seven goals just like Mamelodi Sundowns. In four matches, they have conceded four, have two wins, a draw and a defeat.
SC Casablanca has never won a match in Korhogo after having already played two matches there. Mamelodi Sundowns on the other hand have four victories in four matches at the newly built stadium.
