AJ Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles might be the No. 1 wide receiver in the NFL right now. He had an NFL-record streak of six 125-yard games on his way to 1,005 receiving yards in his nine games this season.
Who does Brown think is the No. 1 cornerback in the NFL?
“I think the best cornerback in the game right now is Pat Surtain (II),” Brown said during an appearance last week on “Speak” on Fox Sports 1. “I like his game so much.”
A first-team All-Pro in 2022, his second NFL season, Surtain appreciates the compliment, but the former Alabama All-American isn’t ready to put on his Hall of Fame jacket yet.
“It means a lot coming from a player like him, a high-caliber player,” Surtain said. “But I don’t try to look too much into it because I tell myself this every time: I still got a lot to prove in my game. But when you get praise like that from players that play the game, it means a lot for sure.”
Surtain and the Denver defense have been preparing for the second game in their back-to-back pairing against two of the NFL’s best and strongest-armed quarterbacks.
The Broncos face the Buffalo Bills at 7:15 p.m. CST Monday at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York. ABC and ESPN will televise the game.

“But the crazy thing is that, despite our excitement, coach Sean Payton said we shouldn’t have been shocked by it. Winning big games, especially divisional games like that, ought to be the norm. It’s encouraging to finally defeat the Chiefs, but winning those kinds of games is to be expected given the potential this team has and the talent and roster we have.
