The AFL has officially announced Hawthorn’s 2024 Gather Round matchup, with the Hawks and Collingwood scheduled for an exciting Sunday afternoon matchup.

The eagerly awaited match has been scheduled for Sunday, April 7, at Adelaide Oval at 4:40 p.m. local time. Fox Footy will broadcast the match LIVE.

This will be the first encounter between the two rivals since Hawthorn upset the eventual premiers in Round 21 of the Retro Round earlier this year.

All nine AFL games in Gather Round 2024 will take place in the state; the games are slated to take place over four days, from Thursday, April 4, to Sunday, April 7, coinciding with school holidays.

There will be multiple locations for the matches, with Adelaide Oval serving as the main hub. All club and AFL members will receive free entry to all games.

Following their two seasons with the Hawks, Sarah Perkins and Janet Baird were delisted by HAWTHORN.

Perkins, 30, made five appearances for Hawthorn, while Baird made one appearance following their inclusion in the team’s inaugural season seven roster.

Perkins has participated in 40 games for four different clubs during her AFLW career.

Hawks AFLW list manager Mitchell Cashion said, “We thank Sarah and Janet for their contribution to our football club across the past two seasons.”

“They will always be inaugural Hawks and we wish them all the best for what comes next.”

With a 3–7 win–loss record in 2023, the Hawks came in 14th place.

She also won a premiership in 2018 and contributed significantly to the Hawks’ VFLW program over a number of years.

During her two seasons, Baird appeared on the court just once for the Hawks.

In her two years with the Suns, the 23-year-old also participated in three games for Gold Coast.

Mitchell Cashion, the manager of the Hawthorn AFLW List, thanked both players for their contributions to the team.

“We appreciate Sarah and Janet’s contributions to our football team over the previous two seasons,” Cashion remarked.
