The Texas Rangers, who won the World Series, were recognized with the first American League Offensive Team of the Year award on Thursday night, in addition to winning Silver Slugger Awards for Corey Seager and Marcus Semien.

The Atlanta Braves were given the first-ever National League Offensive Team of the Year award by Louisville Slugger, which was decided by a combination of offensive statistics and fan voting for finalists from September 25 to October 1.

In terms of runs, hits, home runs, RBIs, batting average, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage, the Rangers and Braves were both league leaders.

After winning in 2022 with the AL’s Minnesota Twins, NL batting champion Luis Arraez (.354) of the Miami Marlins captured his second consecutive victory.

The 2023 winners were led by Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts, who won six Silver Slugger awards (2016), 2018–20, 2022–2023.

DOWNTOWN — Jason Benetti, a longtime Chicago White Sox announcer, is relocating to Detroit to take on the role of TV play-by-play announcer for the Tigers.

The Tigers organization declared that Benetti will assume the role of lead announcer for the team’s broadcasts beginning with the upcoming season, having inked a multiyear contract.

The Tigers announced on “X,” the social media site that was formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday that “one of the top voices in sports is coming to the 313!”

Benetti began working in the White Sox booth in 2016 and succeeded Ken “Hawk” Harrelson as the primary announcer in 2019 when he retired.
