Following the withdrawal of Timothy Weah and Christian Pulisic from his squad, US coach Gregg Berhalter provided a positive update on their injuries.
The two Americans both suffered hamstring strains in the last few weeks. This week, during Milan’s Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain, Pulisic went off, raising questions about the 25-year-old.
Weah, meanwhile, was substituted off the field at halftime of Juventus’ match against Hellas Verona at the end of October, which prevented him from playing in last week’s Serie A match against Fiorentina.
Though they were left out of the most recent USMNT roster due to injuries, Berhalter is positive about their state of health.
“Both of them it’s not too serious, but unfortunately they aren’t going to be able to participate in this camp,” he stated to reporters. “We see them on track to get back to play soon, but it’s too short of a deadline [for November camp] so they won’t be involved.”
In their quarterfinal match, Berhalter’s team will play Trinidad and Tobago in the first leg on November 17 and then again four days later in the second leg.
