Taylor Lewan, a former offensive tackle for the Tennessee Titans, says if given the option, he would choose Joe Burrow to Josh Allen.
Speaking on the Up&Adams Show, Lewan blamed “recency bias” for a significant piece of his decision following the Cincinnati Bengals’ Sunday Night Football victory over the Buffalo Bills.
After having trouble early in the season, Burrow has rediscovered his rhythm. In the Bengals’ victory in Week 9, he passed for 348 yards and two touchdowns while picking up no interceptions.
On the opposing side of the ball, Allen ran for 44 yards and a touchdown in addition to throwing for 258 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
While Lewan was eager to highlight Allen’s rushing upside at the position, he ultimately leaned towards Burrow when asked which player he would choose.
Lewan told the Up&Adams Show, “That’s a tough question, I know Josh better but right now, with recency bias you have to go Joe Burrow.”
“You have to choose Joe because he won the game, was cutting the Bills up and down the field, performed a phenomenal job, and they are hitting their stride at the right time.
“However, Josh made some plays that stiff-armed players on third and three.” Josh is hurdling and doing his own thing, even though a lot of people want the quarterback to slide. Bills Mafia needs the excitement it provides.”
