The St. Louis Cardinals are almost ready to make good on their promises.

Major League Baseball free agency is going to heat up big time now that the World Series is over. It should be an intriguing winter as stars will be moving this offseason through free agency and the trade market.

After a dismal 2023 season, the Cardinals will have the chance to add three starting pitchers, as they have already shown a desire to do. The Cardinals will have several options in the deep free agent starting pitching market this offseason. Philadelphia Phillies star pitcher is one pitcher who has been associated with the team. Nola Aaron and the team.

“(General managers) believe that the Phillies will let Nola walk, and will turn their attention to Blake Snell, who’s about to win his second Cy Young award,” Nightengale stated. “This would leave Nola going to either (St. Louis Cardinals), (Atlanta Braves), (Texas Rangers), or perhaps the Los Angeles Dodgers.”

For the Cardinals, acquiring Nola would be the ideal place to start this summer. Since making his debut in 2015, Nola has been one of the National League’s most dependable right-handed starters, despite having a poor year in 2023 with a 4.46 ERA. The one-time All-Star, who is only thirty years old, has a 3.25 ERA in 2022. Pitching close to 200 innings, he would provide the Cardinals with a steady chance to win every fifth day—something the team desperately needs.

This offseason, Nola will be among the most sought-after free agents, but the Cardinals have the financial means and the motivation to sign a player of his caliber. We will soon discover whether or not St. Louis can truly close a deal.
