Several players from the Detroit Lions vs. Baltimore Ravens game are fined by the NFL
In Week 7, the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Detroit Lions handily, but a few Ravens players suffered serious injuries as a result. Two players were fined for their behavior throughout the match in a contest that had plenty of activity and some heated moments. The two Ravens players who have received fines from the NFL are Odell Beckham Jr. and Roquan Smith.
Fined for hitting Jared Goff, Roquan Smith
Following a hit on Detroit quarterback Jared Goff that resulted in a roughing-the-passer penalty, linebacker Roquan Smith of the Ravens was fined $16,391. The fourth quarter started with the very first play of this occurrence.
Odell Beckham Jr. Was Penalized for Dragging Kerby Joseph’s Helmet Down
Surprisingly, the play that led to the second fine didn’t result in a penalty during the game, but it still cost the player involved extra. Odell Beckham Jr., a wide receiver, was fined $21,844 for bringing his helmet down to make physical contact with Kerby Joseph, a Lions defender. This was also an event that happened in the fourth quarter, and Week 7 saw the biggest fine ever given out. Joseph took a hit from Beckham that went helmet to helmet, forcing him to leave the game to go through the concussion protocol.
Luckily for the Detroit Lions, during the game in Baltimore, none of their players committed any infractions that would have resulted in sanctions.
