Filip Helander moots Rangers return next year when current contract expires.
The Swedish international, who left the Gers at the end of the previous season following an injury-plagued 18 months, expressed his hopes for a successful season with the Danish team in an interview with the Daily Record on Saturday, October 28.The 30-year-old intimated that he would re-sign for the Light Blues on a free transfer the following summer and continued by saying he will see what happens at the end of his current one-year contract.
“It’s fantastic that I have no memory of the injury I sustained,” Helander exclaimed. Furthermore, I believe I still have a lot of game left in me. That’s what I’m thinking about. I try to make a list of the things I wish to accomplish.
Since I’m only thirty, I should have a good few years remaining in me. I nearly feel healthier now that I’ve been away for a long time. Making up for lost time is the goal. That’s my attempt at interpreting it. I’m hoping for a successful season while I’m in Denmark, then we’ll see what happens.
The contract I signed with Odense is only for a year. They had no idea if I would be a good fit or not.
The fact that Helander has recovered to full fitness after suffering through the terrible past few years at Ibrox is fantastic.
Due to a string of ailments that kept him out of action, he didn’t play for the Rangers in the previous season and was let go when his contract expired.
The center defender will be relieved to be back on the field and in good health, even though he must have been through some difficult times during that period.
It seems that he is committed to reviving his career and demonstrating his ability to play well this season in Denmark.
It’s anyone’s guess whether a return to the Gers would be possible, but you never know in the volatile world of football.
