The 2023/2024 campaign gets off to a start that fans of Lilywhites could hardly have predicted. Spurs haven’t looked back since losing club record goalscorer Harry Kane to Bayern Munich in the summer; they have won eight of their first ten Premier League games and are undefeated during that span.

Additionally, Postecoglou’s team just emerged victorious from two matches in the span of five days, defeating Crystal Palace and Fulham, two of their neighbors in London. As the weeks pass, Spurs’ well-liked new head coach gains more and more hero status, making the days of Antonio Conte seem like a very distant past.

Following his table-topping team’s most recent 2-1 victory over Palace on Friday night, Postecoglou praised his Tottenham players for their grit, particularly on a challenging field like Selhurst Park.

According to football.london, he told the reporters, “Being at the top of the table and the results are great, but it’s more in the manner we’re doing it.”

We’ve faced a wide range of obstacles to conquer almost since the beginning of the game. Every time, the group as a whole has shown a genuine focus and coolness to cope with it. That has been a really satisfying development, and since they are reaping the benefits, it presents us with the chance to quicken the process of providing them with additional resources to aid them in overcoming obstacles.

“As I already stated, I anticipated that this game would be extremely challenging for us to play here tonight. The boys had to deal with the notion that we weren’t going to create as many chances as we had been given Palace’s performance last week. It’s a tight field; they had only given up three goals in the four games played thus far. I thought it was great how we solved things as a team.”

On November 6, the north London team plays Chelsea, giving Spurs plenty of time to rest and recover before their next significant test against former manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Summer additions like Micky van de Ven and James Maddison, who have started every Premier League game for Tottenham thus far, have shown to be invaluable under Postecoglou’s new formation. Former Tottenham striker Mido has lauded Maddison for his explosive start to life and his preparedness for the Premier League.

However, youthful striker Alejo Veliz is one recent addition who has had difficulty finding opportunities. After joining from Rosario Central, the Uruguayan has made three substitute appearances but has only played 10 minutes in the league. Nevertheless, reporter Dean Jones currently asserts to GiveMeSport that during the second half of 2023–2024, Veliz is “being prepared” for game time by Postecoglou.
