Starting pitcher Kyle Wright had successful shoulder surgery on Wednesday, October 11, the Atlanta Braves announced on Friday. His right shoulder’s torn capsule was being repaired with this operation. It’s likely that he won’t play in 2024.
This season, the right-hander made just nine appearances in major league games and recorded a 6.97 ERA. He threw 31 shots.
With shoulder troubles that began in January, just before he was given a cortisone shot in preparation for Spring Training, Wright missed most of the season. He was put down once more after five starts, and he couldn’t play again until the regular season was over. He continued to have shoulder pain even after that, so last Friday’s MRI indicated that surgery was required.
