Ange Postecoglou acknowledges his ambition to win trophies and says he loves the current environment at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He also refused to downplay the expectations of the fans.
The mood at Spurs’ home stadium has dramatically changed, making it hard to realize that it was the same place just a few months ago.
It seems to have transformed from being, at times, a toxic place over the last few months of the previous season to party central, with players and supporters rejoicing after the last whistle.
Postecoglou declared his intention to transform the stadium into a true fortress while acknowledging how much he is enjoying the atmosphere there.
Regarding the music played after the game and the identity of the DJ in the Tottenha lomcker room, the manager of the Spurs replied to Football.London, “Ah mate, I’ve got no idea.” And I avoid the dressing room in part due to the players’ musical preferences.
“Most clubs seek to build strongholds on their property; but, mate, ours is evolving into a nightclub. Whatever makes people happy, that’s what I’m all for.
Postecoglou, who has won championships with teams, emphasized that the most important thing is to maintain composure and keep getting better no matter where the team is in the standings.
The 58-year-old responded, “I am the same, it doesn’t matter. I am hoping that when people see me, they don’t know where we are, what position we are,” in response to a question regarding his prior experience winning trophies.
“As you mentioned, we were dominant at Celtic for a considerable amount of time, but I don’t think people noticed any changes in my personality during that time. They won’t, in my opinion (here).
“It is one of my things.It’s not about maintaining a certain level of composure or getting carried away with either. Simply put, it’s my responsibility to be the only reliable element in that situation. In that regard, my constant goal is to figure out how to improve.
It doesn’t really matter where you are at the table or what the outside noise may or may not be doing when that is your goal. It is about how the football team’s players, staff, and other stakeholders perceive me.
