According to the Mole of Wide World of Sports, Salford is apparently contemplating an ambitious move for the halfback, which might now be setting him up for a shocking return to the AJ Bell.

He recently purchased a home in Newcastle and is content there, according to a source close to Hastings, who spoke to Wide World of Sports.

Although there hasn’t been an approach yet, we have heard whispers.

“Jackson still maintains a large social circle in Salford and cherishes his memories of the club.

So, if anything happens, he will wait and watch how it plays out.

As he led the team to their first Grand Final in 2019, Hastings won the Man of Steel award alongside the team.

Midway through the year 2018, the halfback joined, and he helped the team stay alive.

Nene MacDonald, a former center for the Leeds Rhinos, will be joining him.

After being released from his contract with Leeds Rhinos earlier this month, the 29-year-old, who can play center or winger, joins us as our first signing of 2024. He will be a Red Devil until the end of 2027.

As a result of joining the team, Macdonald said: “First of all, thank you to the coaching staff and everyone else who worked behind the scenes to get this contract done.

“I am starting a new chapter in my life with a fantastic team, and it is an exciting moment for me.

“I can’t wait to play in 2024, and I really like the way Salford plays football.”

“It’s a great team that can compete to participate in championships and take home some hardware.

I’m grateful to my friend Krisnan Inu for putting in a good word on my behalf and providing me with nothing but positive information about the club.

I’m eager to play well in front of the Salford supporters and win their respect.

Nene is a very important addition to our club, and I am looking forward to watching him excite our supporters in 2024, according to head coach Paul Rowley.

“I wanted to get Nene two years ago because he is exactly the type of athlete I like to work with, so to finally get him is amazing.

“Krisnan Inu deserves enormous credit for bringing this business to our table from beginning to end. It came about as a result of his relationship and regard for Nene and his advisors.

“Kurt, myself, and Kris are eager to welcome Nene to our team and assist him in looking his best in a Salford shirt!”

Ian Blease, director of rugby and operations, continued, “Nene is a really exciting signing for our club.

“He is a player who is well-versed in what it takes to perform in front of a crowd, and he will offer some major quality to the team in 2024.

“I have no doubt that he will thrill the crowd every week. He is extremely educated and skillful, making him the ideal member of our squad.
