The trio of Jamilee Bright, Angelina Teakaraanga-Katoa, and Tara McGrath-West has been re-signed by the St. George Illawarra Dragons NRLW team.
Each of the three players has accepted to a two-year contract extension with the team, ensuring that they will play for the Red V at least through the 2025 NRLW season.
It is a wonderful bonus for Jamilee Bright and Angelina Teakaraanga-Katoa, who joined the team for the start of the 2023 season.
After making her NRLW debut in the Round 1 matchup against the Newcastle Knights, Bright went on to make a total of six additional appearances. She managed to play every minute of these games, making 168 tackles at a 90% efficiency rate.
Additionally, Teakaraanga-Katoa’s outstanding campaign was rewarded with her first call-up to the Kiwi Ferns team. The 21-year-old made 196 tackles at an average efficiency of about 90% over the previous season, averaging 123 run metres per game.
Tara McGrath-West, 22, is the latest player the team has re-signed. She made her NRLW debut with the Dragons in 2022 and quickly established herself as a squad staple. She then had a successful second season.
She demonstrated her value by averaging 95 run meters and 152 tackles with a tackle effectiveness of over 96%.
“I’m ecstatic to commit to the Dragons for a further two years. I believe that the program is developing into something remarkable. Tara
stated McGrath-West.
I’m really appreciative to the team and Sowie for having faith in me from the beginning of my NRLW career, and I’m excited to see where it leads. I could not imagine being somewhere else because I adore the supporters and the neighborhood around our club.
