Charlie Patino, a young Arsenal player, credits William Saliba with motivating him to take a summer loan.

The gifted midfielder is now playing for Swansea, where he is off to an outstanding start. He stated in an interview with Mail+ that his objective is to join Mikel Arteta’s team at Arsenal again the following season.

Charlie Patino is among the most promising young players at Arsenal.

Every Gunners fan would want for the midfielder, who is only 19 years old, to develop into an incredible superstar at the Emirates over the next several years.

Patino, however, was allegedly moved by Arsenal during the summer transfer window due to the young player’s need for regular playing time.

Patino made the decision to join Swansea City of the Championship on loan until the conclusion of the current campaign when his desired move ultimately fell through.

The gifted youngster now claims he wants to follow in the footsteps of William Saliba, who earned a reputation for himself while out on loan before returning to Arsenal and earning a regular starting position.

“Saliba is a different player to me,” Patino stated. Because Arsenal is such a large, powerful center-back, it motivates me to see one of its players go on loan, establish a reputation for himself, and then return to the club to demonstrate his abilities.

Everybody’s path is unique. Everyone’s path has been different; Bukayo Saka moved directly from the academy to the first team, Eddie went on a few loans, and Emile Smith Rowe went on a few loans.

“But in the end, it’s all about reaching where you want to go, and that holds true for me as well. I want to play for Arsenal’s first team, and being here (at Swansea) is a huge step in the right direction.

Folarin Balogun left Arsenal in the summer, which was a genuine tragedy given how talented he is. It would have been embarrassing to lose Patino in the same window.

After everything turned out well for Arsenal, Patino has expressed a desire to go back to the Emirates and establish himself as a great player.

We believe Arteta can find a way to offer him an opportunity the next season. In the summer, Jorginho and Mohamed Elneny will both be free agents and are anticipated to go, while Saudi interest in Thomas Partey may resurface as he approaches the end of his contract.

That opens the door for Patino to get into the side, and we won’t be surprised at all if he has a huge impact under Arteta at Arsenal.
