With his football brothers, Goff and Brown, Hutchinson aims to keep up the strong start for a Lions defence that is only allowing 21.4 points per week (15th in the NFL) and 292.8 yards per game (seventh), including a pitiful 68.4 (third) on the run.
The edge rusher just completed a sack and an interception in the Lions’ 42-24 victory against the Panthers in Week 5. In addition, he joined Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher and Shaquille Leonard as the third player since 1982 to have 10 or more sacks and four or more interceptions in his first two NFL seasons.]

In the second quarter of the team’s Week 6 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery sustained an upper-body injury. Montgomery took a screen for 19 yards downfield, but as he was tackled, he fell hard to the ground and lay there motionless for some time. Montgomery ultimately chose to walk to the dressing room. He suffered a rib injury, and the Lions stated that his comeback was uncertain.
Despite missing one game due to a thigh injury, Montgomery has been a crucial component of the Lions’ offence, helping the club reach six touchdowns in the first five games. Jahmyr Gibbs is already out of this game for the Lions, leaving them with only two fit running backs left: Craig Reynolds and Devin Ozigbo, who was recently elevated from the practise squad.
