Unfortunately, injuries have been a major theme in the NFL this season. Only this week, Minnesota Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson and Miami Dolphins rookie running back De’Von Achane were placed on injured reserve. Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is still battling with rotator cuff injury, while Giants running back Saqoun Barkley and quarterback Daniel Jones are also out with injuries. On the plus side, Chargers RB Austin Ekeler will play against the Cowboys on Monday night for the first time since Week 1.
Fortunately for you, we’ve compiled the most recent injury information from every NFL club and included them in our Week 6 injury report. Starting with the two teams who squared off on Thursday night, here’s a look at each team’s injury situation heading into Week 6.
The Ravens are generally healthy heading into Sunday’s game against Tennessee in London. Odell Beckham Jr will participate after missing practise earlier in the week due to a hamstring injury. Morgan Moses, who was inactive in Baltimore’s Week 5 defeat to Pittsburgh, will also play.
All four Atlanta Falcons players listed on their Week 6 injury report – defensive end Calais Campbell (rest), outside linebacker Bud Dupree (wrist), offensive tackle Kalais McGary, and tight end Jonnu Smith (ankle) – do not have a game status and will all play against the Washington Commanders on Sunday. After being limited on Wednesday, Dupree practised fully on Thursday and Friday. Smith is in the same boat. McGary had a limited workload on Wednesday and Thursday before returning to full strength on Friday.
The Commanders are a whole other story. Efe Obada, a defensive end who has yet to play a game in 2023 due to being on injured reserve the whole season, will make his season debut. Throughout the week, he practised extensively. Christian Holmes is sidelined with a hamstring issue that kept him from practising this week. Curtis Samuel and Charles Leno Jr., both wide receivers, will play on Sunday after fully practising this week. Curtis Hodges, a tight end, participated in full practise on Thursday and Friday after sitting out on Wednesday. He’ll play on Sunday as well.
The Bears, on the other hand, have already ruled out five players, including three running backs: Khalil Herbert (ankle, placed on injured reserve), Roschon Johnson (concussion), Travis Homer (hamstring), Terell Smith (ankle/illness), and Equanimeous St. Brown (hamstring). Because of the plague of injuries in their running back group, offseason free agency signee D’Onta Foreman (five carries for 16 yards) will most likely get the most of the work on Sunday.
