Dejphon Chansiri, chairman of Wednesday, has issued two remarks expressing his perspective on how things turned out from an early understanding on the causes of Moore’s shocking departure from Wednesday in June. Moore disputed it in an interview with The Star.

When asked if he had recently interacted directly with Chansiri, Moore made it apparent that he had done so just once.

The only time we spoke was before their season opener, according to Moore. “When they were playing Southampton live on Sky, I just wished him luck.

“I sent the club my best wishes for the future. I sent him a note and good luck. I haven’t spoken to him since then.

“That (his departure from the Owls) has received enough coverage in the press and media. It’s my responsibility to bring it up during the game on Saturday.

“For me, it’s the next game, and aside from me knowing the club’s infrastructure and returning there and being familiar with my way in and out, that will be that,” he said.

With Neil Thompson in charge of the Owls for the first time following Xisco’s dismissal earlier in the week, it was Darren Moore’s return to Hillsborough as the Terriers travelled to S6. All but one of the Spaniard’s recruits were left out of the starting XI.

A goalless draw in a game with little opportunities was likely a fair outcome, and while it didn’t improve Wednesday’s league standing, there was undoubtedly a more upbeat vibe in the stadium as they eventually increased their point total from two to three.
