Following Arsenal’s loss, Stags are now the only unbeaten team left in the nation. This game also set a new club record for the most games without a loss to begin a Football League season (11).
Stags dominated a brilliant first half, producing a string of chances and twice hitting the post, before Wrexham upped their game in a more level second half. It was their fourteenth game without a loss across all competitions.
“Especially in the first half, we only needed one of the chances we generated to be converted. Not for want of effort, though. We did everything we could to win it.
“There were a few skirmishes in the second half, but nothing significant enough to worry Christy Pym.
We contained them and created opportunities, and Davis Keillor-Dunn was incredibly unlucky when his shot struck the post. He ought to have executed his header better as well.
“Same as Saturday, there were five or six good opportunities during that time,” he continued. A few bricks bounced back to them and failed to fall for a yellow shirt.Sometimes we have no influence over the outcome. Only our performance and style of play are under our control. Then, whether you get a break or not, or if someone is talented enough on the day to bring you a finish, is something in the hands of the gods. Tonight, I believed one goal would have been sufficient.
“We re-invited Baily Cargill.”

Paul Mullin of Wrexham, according to Wales manager Rob Page, “fits the bill” as a forward option for his team. At a news conference held at The Racecourse in advance of this month’s international games, the Cymru manager made his remarks.
On October 11, Wales will play a friendly against Gibraltar at the Racecourse before playing Croatia four days later at the Cardiff City Stadium. Mullin will be on his squad’s standby list, and Page said during the press conference that he might even make his international debut this month.
“If he’s playing football and scoring goals, then he’s in the equation,” Page said. He is now playing in League Two and scoring goals, and other Welsh players are scoring goals at that level, so they are all being taken into consideration, as we predicted when he was in non-league.
I went to watch him play against Sheffield United and I can tell you as a defender I wouldn’t want to play against Paul Mullin for this particular camp with the injuries we’ve had. After those games, I spoke with Jack Lester (the Wales coach), who is at Sheffield United, and he spoke extremely highly of him.
He fits the bill for that position and for the type of player I need as a nine, said Page. By placing him on standby, we have demonstrated our respect for him and ensured that he will be contacted if necessary.
Page also emphasized the value of playing a game in North Wales, saying that he and his team want to “respect” the supporters who travel far to the south to see Wales play at home. We travel all around the country and do quite a bit, he remarked.
