For the next round six matchup against North Melbourne at Fremantle Oval on Sunday, Kiara Bowers, another important midfielder for Fremantle, will be absent.
Due to knee discomfort, Bowers missed the fourth quarter of the matchup with Essendon in round four and was later declared ineligible for the game against Richmond.
Brett Fletcher, senior physiotherapist for the AFLW, gave an update on Bowers.
We’re currently speaking with some experts to determine how she might return to play, according to Fletcher.
She won’t be available for the game this weekend.
Fremantle is hoping that veteran Ebony Antonio, who withdrew at the last minute from the victory over the Tigers owing to knee discomfort, can make a comeback this weekend.
“Ebony pulled up with soreness (knee) last week; unfortunately, the five-day turnaround wasn’t enough for her to get up and play,” Fletcher said.
She will be put to the test this week; hopefully, she will complete her training and be available.
Utility Gabby O’Sullivan made a triumphant comeback versus Richmond after missing rounds three and four due to a dislocated shoulder sustained in round two.
