After only a few months, one of Preston North End’s Championship opponents fired their manager. This season, Sheffield Wednesday has struggled to get going in the Championship, collecting only two points from their first 10 games.

With owner Dejphon Chansiri recently saying he will be ceasing personal interest in the club owing to an ongoing dispute with the supporters, The Owls are dealing with problems both on and off the pitch. Wednesday achieved promotion through the playoffs the previous year and, in an unexpected move, decided to part ways with Darren Moore, the coach who had helped them return to the second division.

They chose to replace him with former Watford manager Xisco Muoz, but the decision backfired. After losing to West Brom on Tuesday night, Wednesday are still winless, and Muoz has already lost his job just months after taking over at Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday announced the decision in a statement on Wednesday night, stating: “Xisco Muoz has parted ways with Sheffield Wednesday and will no longer be coaching at Hillsborough. The club is also left without the backroom personnel of Xisco, Miguel Muoz, Miguel Gomila, Roberto Cuesta Roman, and Antonello Brambilla.

The team will travel to play Huddersfield Town at home on Saturday under the direction of Under-21s boss Neil Thompson. The Owls would like to express their gratitude to Xisco and his team for their assistance and best wishes for the future. We won’t say anything more at this time since the procedure to name a new manager is still under progress.

Wednesday, who is now at the basement of the Championship, will now start their quest. seven points away from safety and with the assurance that signing this January will need no expenditure. Following Neil Warnock’s unexpected exit from the Yorkshire club, former manager Moore has now taken charge at Huddersfield Town.
