Vladimr Coufal of West Ham United has disclosed to Pardubick Denk that he withdrew from the Czech Republic team last month as a result of a minor injury.
After playing the whole 90 minutes in his country’s national team’s 1-1 draw against Albania in the European qualifiers, the right-back missed the September friendly against Hungary.
The 31-year-old claims West Ham decided he wouldn’t play in the friendly match.
The defender has appeared in three league games since the most recent international break.
The international player for the Czech Republic gave a glowing report on his physical condition and discussed the steps he took to recover from a little setback.
Later this month, the national team competes in the European qualifiers against Albania and the Faroe Islands, so Pardubick Denk questioned Coufal about his health following his withdrawal from the team last month.
“It was primarily preventative in nature. West Ham requested it and got in touch with the national team personnel. This approach has my support as well. I didn’t need to risk worsening my injury to play in the friendly versus Hungary, he stated.
So, after Albania, I travelled to see a spine and back doctor who had treated patients like golfer Tiger Woods, among others. He reasoned that there was no immediate need for any injections or similar procedures. He provided me advice on how to proceed. I already felt better at the national team meeting thanks to the excellent attention I received from the physiotherapists. Additionally, recent improvements have persisted.
The fullback was questioned about the similarities between national team coach Jaroslav Ilhav and West Ham manager David Moyes.
“ilhav is highly respected. By the way he interacts with us, the way he works, or the accomplishments he has made as a player and coach,” Coufal said.
“He and David Moyes share a lot of similarities in terms of mentality and respect. Everyone has the right to criticize him, but I would prefer to see these people demonstrate the respect the players have for him.
