In the summer, Jonathan Panzo, a defender for Nottingham Forest, was a target for Rangers manager Michael Beale. The Glasgow giants have now given him his paperwork and sent him on his way.
Panzo was a target for the departing boss during the summer transfer window. Even the idea was floated that he should try to buy him rather than try to borrow him.
After a disastrous start to the 2023–24 season, in which the Gers had already fallen to Celtic, Beale has since left Rangers. They are third in the standings, seven points behind of their bitter rivals, behind St Mirren.
After attempting to steal Panzo from Forest, Beale was fired.
The young person would have undoubtedly appreciated the transfer this summer. Panzo is lower on the Forest team’s hierarchy, and he was eager to play regular games.
Rangers was preparing a £1.5 million offer to Forest in an effort to get Panzo. Even though Steve Cooper loves the defender dearly, he wouldn’t have blocked him.
Beale ultimately chose to focus on different possibilities. Panzo had to wait until the summer to move because Rangers and Forest couldn’t come to terms on a contract.
It will be interesting to see who the next new manager for Rangers is. Both John Eustace, the manager of Birmingham City, and Frank Lampard have been mentioned.
What has become of Panzo?
In the end, the center defender was loaned to Cardiff City for the 2023–24 season. He would have loved the move to the Rangers, despite the fact that it’s by no means a poor move.
These nights beneath the lights at Ibrox would have been memorable because the Gers are participating in the Europa League this year. He must now put in a lot of effort to join Cardiff’s team

Panzo’s current focus is on playing regular football, though. He was able to do that briefly at Coventry, and as he concentrates on the future, he is likely to have completely forgotten about Rangers’ interest.
