Jermaine Jenas, a pundit, believes that ex-Tottenham Hotspur star Serge Aurier has evolved into a new player with Nottingham Forest.
Serge Aurier, a former Tottenham Hotspur right defender, has resurrected his career after joining Nottingham Forest.
That is the opinion of Jermaine Jenas, a former player for both clubs.
Forest drew 1-1 with Brentford on Sunday afternoon, salvaging a point after falling down 1-0.
Steve Cooper would like to see a few more wins, but eight points in seven games to start the season is a good start.
Jermaine Jenas commends Serge Aurier.
Serge Aurier was one of the players that played the whole 90 minutes in that Forest draw, with the Ivorian playing a significant role at right back.
The stats aren’t spectacular; Aurier had two tackles, one correct cross, one interception, and one clearing.
However, Aurier has received praise, with BBC Sport analyst Jermaine Jenas praising him.
Jenas emphasised that Forest manager Cooper seemed to get the most out of his players.
The former Forest midfielder used Aurier as an example, thinking he has evolved into a ‘different person’ at the City Ground.

Jenas recalls Aurier’s time at Tottenham as erratic, but now believes he is succeeding after being appointed Forest captain on Sunday.
“I feel like he tries to get more out of his players, to keep on improving them,” Jenas remarked. “Serge Aurier is a good example of that, which is why I asked Cooper about him after Sunday’s game.”
“I watched Aurier a lot at Tottenham, where things didn’t work out for him for whatever reason, and he looks like a completely different person at Forest.” Cooper has appointed him captain, and sometimes when you give guys responsibilities, they become leaders.
Since Kyle Walker’s departure, Tottenham’s right back has been chopped and altered.
Aurier was intended to be the key replacement for Kyle Walker once he left Manchester City in 2017.
After signing from Paris Saint-Germain, the 30-year-old showed flashes of brilliance but never lived up to expectations.
Aurier was a teammate of Kieran Trippier before being traded to Atletico Madrid; he now plays for Newcastle United in the Premier League.
Tottenham’s right back position has become a headache in recent years, with Kyle Walker-Peters, Matt Doherty, Emerson Royal, Pedro Porro, and Died Spence all having a try.
Aurier struggled for the majority of his Tottenham career, but he finally appears to have found a true home at the club.
