Roofe had to get a scan after the match against Livingston, so the management anticipated the worst.
Michael Beale has announced that Kemar Roofe might return from injury as soon as next weekend after having his anxieties allayed by a scan in midweek.
The forward was forced to leave Rangers’ Viaplay Cup match against Livingston at halftime on Wednesday evening, and Beale was concerned about his player due to a past injury that may have flared up. However, Beale has confirmed that his injury is not as serious as initially believed, and while he won’t be able to play against Aberdeen this afternoon, he might play next weekend.
“Fingers crossed Kemar will be available again by next weekend, so that’s good news,” the manager stated on BBC Sportsound. The scan revealed nothing noteworthy, therefore it was a wise idea to come out. He’ll miss tonight and may not be risked in midweek, but he might return for St Mirren.”
Beale expressed sadness after losing seven players to injury, with the most of the problems occurring towards the top of the pitch.
He continued: “We’ve got seven injured at the moment and they’ve come from games and are people who would’ve played at the top five positions, so that makes life difficult.”Only Scott Wright and little Zak Lovelace have been hurt, so we’re lacking in that department.
“At the back we’ve got everyone available so maybe that’s why we’ve had all the clean sheets!”
