TRANMERE have revealed that defender Dan Pike has agreed to extend his contract until the end of January 2024.

Pike signed a one-month agreement with Rovers in late August and has excelled with his performances since then, earning him further terms.

So far, the 21-year-old has made six appearances for Rovers, appearing at both right and left back.

Pike joined Blackburn Rovers at the age of eight, having previously played for Liverpool.

Before departing Ewood Park in May 2023, he had two loan stints with Fylde.

Nigel Adkins, the manager, said: “We are pleased for Dan that he has extended the opportunity to keep developing and fight for a longer term contract at Tranmere Rovers following his efforts, good character and application so far.”

We are pledging our support for the 2023 Play Safe weekend.
At the end of this month, English football at all levels will band together to promote Play Safe, a national campaign to raise awareness of the critical necessity of safety in our national game.

The Football Association is leading the Play Safe campaign, which is sponsored by the NSPCC and every level of the game, including the Premier League, EFL, Barclays Women’s Super League, and Barclays Women’s Championship, as well as grassroots football.

We are delighted to promote Play Safe through our website and social media outlets, as well as through an online Play Safe Pledge. Our promise calls on us to listen to players’ opinions and collaborate with them on any adjustments, to keep safeguarding information on our website up to date, and to support the weekend through our social media platforms.

Of all, everyone is responsible for safety, so if you haven’t already, why not make your own Play Safe Pledge? We strongly advise you to do so.

The two primary messages of this year’s Play Safe weekend are:

‘Everyone, everywhere, every time’ should understand football safeguarding; everyone should ‘watch, listen, discuss, and act’ if they have any safeguarding issues.
If you have a safeguarding issue or want assistance, please contact Paul at Tranmere Rovers at PaulM@tranmererovers.co.uk.

Let’s work together to make the game we all love even safer.
