By committing to Leicester City for the foreseeable future, Hamza Choudhury has signed a long-term contract renewal. Choudhury signed a four-year contract that lasts until the summer of 2027. The midfielder was nearing the end of his last year of employment at the King Power Stadium.

The Loughborough-born player, who rose through City’s junior ranks, has now made 91 first-team appearances for the organization, including a late cameo from the bench in the Foxes’ first-ever FA Cup final victory over Chelsea in 2021. He played 37 times for the Hornets while on loan with Watford in the Championship last year.

Choudhury, who earlier in his career had spent time on loan at Burton Albion, has played seven times for Enzo Maresca’s team so far this season. Last week, he was given his first league start in the 2-0 victory at Norwich City. In Saturday’s 1-0 home victory over Bristol City, the former England Under-21 international was not used as a substitute.

A number of clubs were reportedly keeping an eye on Choudhury’s status at Leicester earlier this month, according to TEAMtalk, but the 25-year-old now appears poised to stay and compete for a spot with his local team. Since he made his senior debut against the Reds in the same tournament back in 2017, he has started in both rounds of the Carabao Cup this season and might play against them today (Wednesday) at Anfield.
