Tonight Jack Harrison might make his Everton debut.
The winger hasn’t played for the Toffees since signing on loan because of an injury, but he did play for the U-21 team again this past weekend.
Harrison moved from Leeds United six weeks ago, and fans had hoped to have seen him by this point. However, it appears he has only recently recovered from the hip injury he suffered last season.
Harrison started in Everton U-21s’ win over Norwich City U-21s last week, making his first appearance since May.
Before rejoining the senior team, the 26-year-old played out the first half at Walton Hall Park to improve his match fitness.
However, Everton has now made a suggestion that he might be ready to make his Carabao Cup debut against Aston Villa today. Harrison was not included in the U-21 team’s victory over Burton Albion yesterday, which may indicate that Sean Dyche is ready for him to play.
The team who tried to sign Jack Harrison will go up against them.
After a surprising 3-1 success against Brentford at the weekend, the Toffees will be looking for their second victory in a short period of time.
Though Harrison is set to start from the bench in his first game back, it doesn’t appear likely that they will play a depleted lineup at Villa Park as they aim to maintain the positive energy surrounding the club.
Harrison and Villa may not get along well because they tried to sign him before he decided to move to Merseyside. Despite having the ability to provide the attacker European football, Unai Emery’s team apparently attempted to hijack the deal but were unsuccessful in their endeavor.
The Toffees are anxious to see Harrison show Aston Villa what they’ve been missing, and he may have an even better opportunity to do so when they play Luton Town the following week.
