Dr. Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has joined us as an exclusive writer. He’ll be sharing his thoughts on West Brom’s injury issue every week…
According to Dr. Rajpal Brar, West Brom forward Josh Maja is unlikely to return before the end of November owing to an ankle injury.
In a 0-0 draw against Bristol City City, the 24-year-old needed assistance getting off the field and was later seen wearing a protective boot.
The injury specialist feels that the precaution was made for a variety of reasons, but that he is unlikely to return for another two months.
Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, told West Brom News exclusively about Tanaka’s injury: “A protective boot with a foot injury can range from the physio staff being cautious to it indicating a more serious setback.”
“Because foot injuries can develop quickly and be difficult to diagnose early on, a boot is frequently used only as a precautionary measure.”
“There are simply too many best and worst case scenarios to provide without knowing more about the injury and how it occurred.”
“However, he does not appear to be returning until the end of November.”
Maja has appeared in five games this season but is yet to get a league start for Carlos Corberan’s team.
The Nigerian has only played 91 minutes for the first team, with all of his appearances coming off the bench.
Maja joined the Hawthorns this summer on a free transfer after his contract with French club Bordeaux terminated in June.
In other West Brom news, a football specialist has been surprised by behind-the-scenes information revealed at Hawthorns in recent months.
