According to Heart & Hand anchor David Edgar, who discussed the transfer in depth on the platform’s Daily Update for September 18, 23.

The Ibrox club allegedly sought to offload the center-back after Ben Davies said in the open this summer that he never wanted to go.

After a shaky debut campaign in Glasgow and a prospective £4 million transfer from Liverpool, Rangers are yet to see a meaningful return on their investment.

As a result of Stoke City purportedly making a last-minute loan offer for the midfielder, Rangers media partners Heart & Hand claim that the terms of the agreement would restrict the Ibrox team’s transfer market options.

According to reports, it may depend on Ben Davies leaving Leicester City before the transfer window closes in order to pursue frozen-out defender Harry Souttar.

Ben Davies would have definitely been sold by Rangers.
David Edgar claims that Rangers would have moved Ben Davies in the summer if they could have.

“As we sit here, I don’t think we should pretend that wasn’t the case.

“But he desired to remain, and he has done so; in contrast, the offer Rangers received from Stoke was wholly inadequate, amounting to little more than ‘you pay all his salaries, and we’ll take him,’ which is the worst scenario for Rangers.
