Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, will be avidly searching for a replacement for Ivan Perisic after the seasoned Croatian sustained a catastrophic knee injury during training. Perisic appeared to be on the verge of following Antonio Conte this past summer, but he stayed in north London and has now established himself as an important team player for Postecoglou,

Perisic has had to make do with cameo roles because Destiny Udogie has taken over the left-back position and Son-Heung Min and Manor Solomon have shared the left-wing responsibilities. In the Bournemouth match, where he and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg were both introduced while the game was flowing in the Cherries’ favor, Postecoglou first realized his worth to the club coming off the bench.

The 34-year-old against Sheffield United swung in the corner that Richarlison nodded in and he also played a significant part in the lead-up to Dejan Kulusevski’s winning goal. Therefore, this injury setback is a bad win for the player and Postecoglou, but he might have been given the opportunity to sign the ideal substitute.

Not only Postecoglou, but Jota also left Celtic over the summer in order to join the Saudi Arabian team Al-Ittihad. The fact that his present team was so active in the summer and had to sign too many foreign players to meet the Saudi Pro League quota has turned his trip to the Middle East into a nightmare. Jota was the unfortunate member to be left out.

A reunion may be in the works given that the Portugal international and Postecoglou had a tight working relationship in Scotland. Jota played 83 appearances and scored 28 goals for Celtic, but Postecoglou was constantly searching for more from the 24-year-old, a challenge he could complete in north London.
