Rangers boss Michael Beale has indicated that teenager Bailey Rice might face his previous side Motherwell at Ibrox.

The Gers manager has contributed to the rising excitement surrounding the 16-year-old, who made his Ibrox debut against Livingston at the conclusion of last season, less than a year after signing from Fir Park.

Coming through the Lanarkshire Academy, Rangers have recently signed Bailey Rice to a lengthier contract, with Michael Beale discussing the midfielder following the win against Real Betis.

The new deal is considered good business at Ibrox, with Manchester City and Newcastle United connected, as well as Premier League rivals Everton and Aston Villa.

And Michael Beale added fuel to the flames surrounding the Scotland youth international by claiming Bailey Rice may get more Rangers minutes against Motherwell.

Bailey Rice is “ready” for Rangers minutes, according to Michael Beale.
The Ibrox manager talked highly of the kid, claiming that he is “ready” for further first-team involvement at Rangers.

“I’m telling you, we have a great player in Bailey Rice,” Beale remarked.

“He won’t be 17 until the end of next month, but protecting him is important when I introduce him to this insane asylum.”

“But I’m telling you, he’s ready.”

With Steven Davis, Kieran Dowell, Todd Cantwell, and Nicolas Raskin joining long-term absence Steven Davis in the Rangers midfield, there is an opportunity for Ibrox talent.

Michael Beale knows a good player when he sees one, having built a solid name in junior coaching at Liverpool and Chelsea, and his praise for Bailey Rice is real.

There’s a lovely symmetry in the fact that against Motherwell, the club where it all started for the child, he could start to show it.
