Nuno Tavares faces a period on the sidelines after being forced off hurt against Manchester City, according to NottinghamshireLive.

Nuno Tavares of Nottingham Forest was pulled off injured during the Reds’ Premier League match against Manchester City.

At the Etihad, the Portuguese left-back fell down soon before halftime and was unable to continue. Gonzalo Montiel took his position.

Tavares joined the City Ground on a season-long loan from Arsenal this summer. The 23-year-old was making his third appearance for Liverpool when he was pulled off during the encounter in Manchester.

Steve Cooper’s squad trailed Man City 2-0 at halftime, with goals from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland putting Pep Guardiola’s team in command as they attempt to preserve their perfect Premier League record this season.

However, the hosts were reduced to 10 men early in the second half as Rodri was sent off for a fight with Morgan Gibbs-White.

Forest’s next game is against Brentford at the City Ground on Sunday, October 1 (kick-off: 2pm), with Tavares now a significant injury doubt.
