Tranmere Rovers parted ways with Ian Dawes over the weekend after their 2-0 defeat at Colchester United.
Tranmere Rovers have appointed former Southampton and Hull City manager Nigel Adkins as interim manager while they look for a new manager.
The Birkenhead club has had a poor start to the current League Two season, finishing in 22nd place following only one win in their first seven games.

Here are three management possibilities to consider right now…

Clarke, Darrell
The 45-year-old is free and will consider his future move in the game. He has previously managed Bristol Rovers and Port Vale out of the fourth tier after being promoted to League One twice.

Clarke, who formerly managed Walsall, took over at Vale Park in February 2021 and won the play-offs in 2022 after defeating Mansfield Town in the final. He was fired in April of this year, though, after a disappointing run of form.

Mr. David Artell
He has been out of the game since leaving Crewe Alexandra in April of last year. Artell, who played as a defender for Rotherham United, Morecambe and Northampton Town, was in command of the Railwaymen for slightly over five years.

The ex-Gibraltar international won 35.6% of his matches in charge of the Cheshire club, guiding them to automatic promotion in 2020 and winning Manager of the Year in the same season.

Tranmere Rovers have appointed Nigel Adkins as caretaker manager, and if he performs well, he might be considered for the permanent role. He joined the club as Technical Director in the summer.

His most notable accomplishment was leading Southampton to back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League.
