Latest Nottingham Forest news as Steve Cooper’s Reds prepare to face Clarets in the Premier League.
Nottingham Forest are concerned about Serge Aurier, Danilo, and Anthony Elanga’s fitness for Monday night’s match against Burnley.
Full-back Aurier and midfielder Danilo were both injured in Liverpool’s 1-0 win against Chelsea before the international break. Elanga scored the game-winning goal at Stamford Bridge but was forced to withdraw from Sweden’s squad due to a hamstring injury.
When asked in his pre-match news conference if the three would be eligible to play the Clarets at the City Ground, head coach Steve Cooper was evasive. His squad will look to capitalize on their strong start to the season in their next game.
“Danilo suffered an injury at Chelsea that he is still suffering from,” Cooper explained. “It’s unclear how long he’ll be out, but he’s not training right now.”
“Anthony returned from Sweden early with a hamstring problem, and Serge walked off at Stamford Bridge as well, so some players are being managed due to injuries.” We’re hoping to bring them back as soon as possible.
“We’re not sure (if they’ll be ready for Monday’s game) because we have a few days until we play.” We can’t really rule anyone in or out, so we’ll have to wait and see.
