The FA may impose penalties on a football team when home supporters hurled projectiles at an opposition custodian.
On Saturday, Crawley Town FC defeated Tranmere Rovers 3-2 at home in a League Two match at Broadfield Stadium.
Luke McGee of Rovers was the target of flares thrown into the pitch by a “large group” of home fans.
The club issued an apology and said that an inquiry had been launched.
After Crawley’s equaliser in the 61st minute, there was an incident in the stadium’s South Terrace that almost resulted in the game being abandoned.
The club claims that it anticipates being subject to fines in the upcoming weeks, which it claims would place it under “significant financial stress.”
Additionally, it could result in team point deductions or the closing of stands.
The club said, “It is extremely disappointing and now worrying that these select groups, who do not represent the larger fan base, continue to let the club down in this way.”
Crawley stated that anyone found to have been involved in missile throwing will be permanently barred from Broadfield Stadium.
For comment, Sussex Police has been contacted.

“First and foremost, we’re all dissatisfied with how the game ended.”
“We were 1-0 up at halftime in the first half, and obviously to concede at the end is sickening for all of us and the fans who have travelled down here.”
“With the additional time, it’s going until the 100th minute, and we have to perform as well as we did in the first.”
