On Sunday, October 8, the Lincoln City Former Players’ Association will play Bradford City FPA in an effort to collect money for many causes.

The game, the first of its type between the two teams, will honour the 56 individuals who lost their lives in the Valley Parade fire that devoured the main stand in 1985, including lifelong Imps Bill Stacey and Jim West.

Fans can now buy tickets to the game at the LNER Stadium (2 p.m. KO) to watch their idols play, share their memories of Lincoln City with them, and help some deserving charities.

The Lincoln City Foundation, the Lincoln Lord Mayor’s charities, the Bradford Burns Unit, and other organisations will receive funds from the sale of each ticket.

Tickets cost £10 for adults, £5 for children, or £20 for a family ticket that admits two adults and two kids.

Gavin Gordon, the chairman of City’s FPA and a former Imp, will be one of the ex-Imps returning to the LNER Stadium pitch. “We’ve been planning this event for a while, and we wanted to do it to support such deserving causes,” he added.

“This is the first time we’ve done something similar, and it gives fans of both clubs an excellent opportunity to remember the monument. We want the supporters to have fun, and we’re hoping to collect some money that will be really helpful.
