Emmanuel Dennis has been left off Nottingham Forest’s final 25-man squad list for the 2023/24 Premier League season.
After turning down a loan transfer to Russian club CSKA Moscow, the Nigerian attacker was declared surplus to requirements.
He is apparently close to joining Adana Demirspor and Istanbul Basaksehir in Turkey, with both teams rejecting bids for the 26-year-old before the deadline on Friday.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a transfer football specialist, both Turkish teams have been ordered to offer loan bids for the Nigerian, with his wage fully covered in the planned transaction.
The Tricky Trees, on the other hand, had Dennis teammates Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina on their roster for the season.
Awoniyi, Forest’s leading goalscorer last season with ten, has maintained his scoring record this season, hitting three goals in four EPL appearances. Along with Callum Hudson-Odoi, Divock Origi, and Chris Wood, he heads the Tricky Trees attack this season.
Aina, who joined Forest on a free transfer this summer after leaving Serie A’s Torino, is one of Steve Cooper’s 11 defenders for the season.
Since transferring to City Ground in the summer, he has made three appearances.
Both players are anticipated to remain in the Forest matchday squad for Saturday’s match against Burnley.
