Nottingham Forest striker Emmanuel Dennis might yet move to Turkey before the transfer deadline on Friday. Steve Cooper has judged the player surplus to needs, and the head coach is eager to get rid of him.
According to The Athletic, the player’s representation are still in negotiations with several Turkish teams. Trabzonspor was supposed to be in talks, but nothing has progressed.
Dennis joined Forest from Watford a year ago. He had scored 10 goals in his first Premier League season and appeared to be a valuable acquisition.
At £15 million, it was expected that he’d play a significant role in the team, but he failed to impress Cooper. He only scored twice in 2022/23 and has spent the summer working out with the B-Team.
According to the article, if a deal is struck, Forest would like it to be a loan with the option to buy later. Several teams in Turkey are said to be interested in him, and conversations are underway.
