After a summer of conjecture, Harry Souttar believes his sole focus is on getting back into the Leicester group.

The Australian international was expected to leave the Championship club in the summer after failing to secure a starting berth under Enzo Maresca.

In the run-up to the conclusion of the summer transfer window, a probable move to Rangers was hotly speculated upon.

However, no such move occurred, and Souttar remained at Leicester.

Now, he has spoken up about his status at the club, revealing that it has been “tough” with his future uncertain.

“It’s been difficult,” he stated. I believe there was a lot of news coverage regarding going on loan.

“I’m a Leicester City player.” I’m going to do all I can to get back into the team.

“Obviously, it’s the manager’s decision, so all I can do is work hard and try to prove to him that I can get back into the squad.”

While Souttar’s playing time at Leicester has been limited, Australia manager Graham Arnold has backed him.

Souttar played the full 2-2 tie with Mexico yesterday and even scored the first goal, with Hibs’ Martin Boyle getting the second.
