Pipa, West Brom’s latest signing, has promised to show off his attacking abilities and is ready for the physical rigours of the Championship.

The 25-year-old full defender joined on loan from Ludogorets on transfer deadline day, having previously played for Huddersfield Town and Olympiacos under Carlos Corberan.

During his two-year stint with the Yorkshire club, which concluded in a play-off final defeat, the full back appeared in over 50 games.

He has been working with his new Albion teammates in preparation for a possible debut against Bristol City on Saturday.

In his first interview since joining The Hawthorns, Pipa told the club’s website that he is eager to play in ‘one of the hardest leagues’ again.

“The hardest thing I discovered when I first came to England was the strength of the league; it’s one of the toughest leagues I’ve played in,” he added.

“But there’s also the issue of quality and how demanding it can be.” It’s physically and intellectually hard for the players, but it’s also fun to play in since it presents fresh obstacles.

“Every game is so difficult, and the league is getting even more difficult, so I know how difficult it is.”

“It’s not easy to score points and play here, but when you do, you feel like you’re playing real football.”

“I missed it when I left here previously. It’s a league I absolutely enjoy.”

The Spaniard, who has represented his nation up to the under-21 level, began his career with La Liga club Espanyol before moving on to Bulgaria following a brief stint in Greece.

Pipa explained what he will contribute to Albion: “I’m an attacking player with defensive qualities.” My greatest strength is going ahead, but I also want to attack frequently.

“I can also play both sides, which gives me more options to play, which is beneficial to me.”

“I’m a player who will attack, defend, work hard, and give my all.”

“I want to assist this club in achieving its goals.” I want to have fun playing football here, to give my all, and to achieve what we can.”
