Dean Jones has stated that Sam Lammers has not been good enough for Rangers thus far, but his lack of confidence is getting concerning as time passes.

Lammers has scored only one goal in nine appearances for Rangers since joining from Sampdoria for £3 million earlier this summer, and he has struggled to impress alongside many of his teammates in a poor start to his Rangers career.

Jones claims the striker’s body language is becoming an issue, as he is desperate to give the Ibrox audience what they want of him, which can have a negative affect on his performances.

“Obviously, one goal from nine matches isn’t a good enough return,” the former Eurosport journalist told GIVEMESPORT on September 7.

“But you can see the anguish in his face now as chances pass him by, and that’s a little concerning because you don’t want your frontline players losing confidence that easily.”

“I believe part of the reason is that he is desperate to give Rangers fans what they want and get them to where they want to go.” It’s

Lammers must take the initiative.

The new striker isn’t the only newcomer at Ibrox who has had a bad start to his Rangers career, but he’ll need to step up fast to satisfy a demanding crowd. Pressure has begun to mount on Michael Beale’s position as manager, which is then passed on to the players.

The tough environment at Ibrox can frequently make or break players. Either they buy into the mood and demands of the audience, or they allow it to impair their performances due to their need to impress, which is especially true for newcomers.

The fact that a new striker’s confidence is fading after only nine games is not a good indication, but there is still hope that he will find his feet after a difficult start. A strange plus is that no one else is performing right now, so he doesn’t stick out as an especially awful performance.

His attack partner and teammate Cyriel Dessers has also become a source of concern, as he is failed to score his first league goal.
