Neil Warnock’s squad have returned to training ahead of the start of the Championship season against Rotherham United and Stoke City following the international break.

The Terriers were bolstered by the return of two first-team players over the international break, as both Tom Lees and Sorba Thomas returned to full training with the rest of the group.

Neil Warnock had given his team several days off after their first victory of the season, away to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon, but the Huddersfield Town squad reconvened on Thursday afternoon to prepare for the next round of fixtures.

The club’s video footage from inside training at the Millers Oils High Performance Complex (as we all absolutely, positively call it every time) shows Lees and Thomas participating in drills as well as a seven-a-side game at the end of the session.

Thomas started all four of Town’s Championship games this season, but he was ruled out of the weekend trip to the Hawthorns due to injury. In Thomas’ absence, David Kasumu made a surprising return from a month out with an ankle injury to play at right wing-back.

Lees has been out since pre-season, first due to a calf injury that kept him out of the summer friendly, and then due to a back issue that has kept him out since the start of the season.

Centre-back Loick Ayina has been out with an Achilles injury, and Ollie Turton is anticipated to be out until the new year with an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in February.

Except for any additional concerns that may have arisen during the current international break, those two players are their only current senior ailments.
